Refurbished Jura Z8 – flagship Z-Line build, 21 drinks, dual spout

The Jura Z8 was the top of Jura's home range before the Z10 arrived, and it still out-specs most new machines: a 4.3-inch touchscreen, 21 programmed drinks, a 2.4 L water tank, a dual spout for two cups at once and the Pulse Extraction Process that gives Jura espresso its body. It is a big, quiet, beautifully finished machine that was built to run all day.

As a refurbished unit the Z8 is one of the smartest buys in our range – Z-Line engineering at roughly E8 money. Every Z8 is stripped, descaled, resealed and tested by our Melbourne technicians and covered by a 12-month parts and labour warranty.

The Z8 suits busy households, entertainers and offices of 5–15 people who want capacity, two-cup convenience and premium milk drinks. It needs a bit more bench space than an E8.

If you want cold brew or the self-adjusting grinder, that's the Z10. If your bench is tight, the S8 gives you the same touchscreen experience in a smaller box.

On the Z8 the parts that wear are predictable, so every unit gets the same service before it is listed: the brew unit is stripped, cleaned and refitted with new seals and O-rings; the drainage valve and outlet are inspected and replaced if there is any sign of weeping; the thermoblock is descaled and flow-tested; the grinder burrs are cleaned, checked for wear and the grind recalibrated; and the milk system is pulled apart, cleaned and refitted with a new pipe and frother seals. The machine is then run through a full test cycle (espresso, long coffee, milk drink, hot water) and the extraction pressure, temperature and dosing are checked against Jura's specification before we sign it off. Cosmetic condition is graded honestly and photographed on request.
