Refurbished Jura S8 – touchscreen control, café-quality milk drinks

The Jura S8 sits between the E8 and the Z-Line: the same Professional Aroma Grinder and Pulse Extraction Process as the E8, but with a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen that lets you tweak strength, volume, temperature and milk ratio for each of its 17 drinks and save them as favourites. The Fine Foam Frother produces dense, glossy microfoam for flat whites and cappuccinos, and the whole machine looks the part on a bench.

Every refurbished Jura S8 we sell has been stripped, descaled, resealed and bench-tested by our own technicians in Melbourne, and is covered by a 12-month parts and labour warranty. It's the S8 experience at a fraction of the new price.

Choose the S8 if you like to dial in your drinks – a shorter, stronger flat white for you, a milkier latte for someone else – and want a modern touchscreen rather than a dial. It suits households with different tastes and small offices.

If you'd rather just press a button and not customise, the E8 does the same coffee for less. If you want cold brew or a self-adjusting grinder, step up to the Z10.

Every machine goes across the bench and gets the same work before it is listed.

Replaced as standard. The brew unit is replaced. Every seal and O-ring in the machine is renewed, pump seals included. The steam assembly is completely refitted with all of its seals replaced.

Pressure tested, and replaced if it fails. The pumps are resealed and pressure tested, and replaced if they are not performing — either way the machine leaves here pumping properly. The ceramic valve is pressure tested and replaced if it does not hold. Every sensor is checked for correct resistance and replaced if the reading is out. The grinder is recalibrated and its brushes renewed, and if extraction still is not where it should be, the grinder itself is replaced.

Stripped and cleaned. Boilers are descaled and flushed. The water circuit and flow control are stripped and cleared of any debris. The whole system is flushed through, and the machine is cleaned and vacuumed out inside and out.

Then it is run and tested with real coffee before we sign it off.

One honest note about that: you may find a few coffee grounds in the machine when it arrives. A little always stays in the hopper channel through testing and transport. It is not a sign the machine was not cleaned — it is a sign it was tested.

Cosmetic condition. These are used machines and some of them look it. Expect scuffs, light scratches and general wear on the casing, panel and drip tray. Before your machine ships we photograph the actual unit you are buying, marks and all, and send you a short video of it running. What you see is what arrives.
